W.A. Olmsted Chicago tag?

Hello I found this today in a local park that used to be the site of a college and highschool in the late 1800's this was found only 4 inches deep but stuck against a foundation wall.. Any ideas what it was on? it is 2.5 inches long and 1/2 wide.
