do I need to make any adjustments when changing coils from a 10" DD coil to a 4 x 6 DD coil? Does the vx3 know and compensates for what coil is on?

I think that's only for the V3i that you need to adjust coil size!

i think you have to change your recovery speed and slow your sweep speed way down.
