Vosburg Today. Trying to date Paddle Drill

Hi folks,

So today I found another Vosburg in the same location I found the Paddle Drill. That makes 2 Vosburgs and a paddle Drill from same spot. I am trying to estimate an age on the drill. Based on these two finds maybe 4500 BP.

I have not found much of anything else at this spot. Other than these items I found s tip of a quartz drill, a broken snappit like point. At the location definite signs of knapping and some coal.

The one today is the one in multiple pics. Do you think based on the relative finds that 4500 BP is a good guess?

Everything depends on how accurate the placement of Vosberg on the time line is.

Thanks Tdog. That's my go to site in Regards to ID. If the base of today's one was concave it would be identical to the black profile one depicted. However, it does say some have straight base. They both show signs of Bassel thinning.

I love this spot. I wish I could be more open with the history and the exact sect it belonged to. It would give spot away however and I still have work to do. Like 8 trips and only 3 pieces full. The rest of the stuff from the site not worth mentioning.

After the season I'm going to put a fram together of the stuff from this site. Interesting spot for sure.

That's an excellent point Mamucker. I believe the site was picked in the recent passed and these were missed. Have to spend enormous amounts of time. These are all semicleaned pieces. They looked like the color of the ground they lay on. Very hard to spot pieces. It's incredible the drill wasn't stopped on by myself. Anyway. Thanks for your guys input.
