Idk I this is just bad luck or a drawback to the fisher f2....

The past week I detected some volleyball courts (granted only two and possibly not heavily used) I didn't find a single thing! I was actualy surprised not even a pull tab or anyhing. Does the F2 loose considerable depth when used over sand??

Maybe someone got their before you? Never used an F2 to give a good explanation, so I'm out.

Volleyball courts around here get hit every day......sometimes by more than one detectorist.

I usually check around the benches. I found a gold ring just last week under one! I really want to get out more I just feel like ill be hastened by police, even though they don't really care where I live (talked to a cop and asked him)

Haven't tried sand yet, But, I'd go back bury a dime and see what happens. I'm kinda new but I love my F2

I was going to do that just to make sure it's actually working. I know it is now because I found a tiny piece of a metal belt and a nickle. Both very solid targets on the VDI

The F2 shouldn't have any problem in the sand. Although if they replenish the sand yearly targets may get buried deep. I was able to get a good 8" with the Ace 250 at a saltwater beach in dry sand. Also, these areas are easy to hit so might get hunted out quick. Sand scoops in volleyball courts are a must.

I've used my wifes f2 quite a bit,in sand also.It has no problem seeing really small bits at 6-8" in sand.pretty cool machine I'd say

I hit the VB courts at least once a wk. 1st. thing at sun rise, never find much
some clad here an there. as for the F2 can't say, I have an ACE 350 and it's a clad magnet :occasion14:

Volley ball courts get detected hard...I never find many targets on a volley ball court and the coins are always very fresh drops.

If the volley ball courts are not sand but in the park most are laid out with clay under the surface dust. they are hard to get hits on unless something is right on the surface. you could just eyeball most courts. I found a large men's silver bracelet with a broken clasp once. Oh and the parks dept. prob. be mad if you dig on the court.
