Visiting the keys

My wife and I are newly retired and just started metal detecting, mostly for meteorites in the desert, coins around the lake beaches and small time exploring!
Planning my second trip to Florida!
Had fun in the Sebastian area metal detecting and fishing.
Not a lot of luck.
Heading to the keys for a week and know I'll find good fishing, any suggestions for metal detecting?

Hunt any Beach (if allowed) or pull off along side the road where would walk down paths to the water, etc..
Like they teach you in "Metal Detecting School" - The more people - the more stuff is in the ground.
