Dug this up today, hoping someone might know what it is. The button like objects are 7/8" dia. And hollow, probably brass. They are all marked "superior quality " on the back. The eagle with 13 stars is standing on an anchor. The Virginia state seal with the Latin "sic semper tyrannis ".Any info. much appreciated, thanks. I think those are a part of a woman's fashion belt. Haven't seen one before with state buttons though.

Thanks Duggap. I considered belt or bracelet, but I couldn't imagine those designs having appeal to women.

But the trademark 'Superior Quality' is a buttons thing, no? For Naval buttons and so on? Seems intentionally made as is (no marks of shank removal...) Interesting. Yakker

I think I remember someone stating that some of these were made from the original dies used in earlier periods.
