Had a great day with Jim, (SouthJerseyJim) and his Mom at one of there favorite sites. Within the first fifteen minutes I dug three coins. I could see the shield nickle and knew I had a large cent but the odd sized coin I couldn't make out. Later I met up with Jim in the field and showed him the coins I had found that's when we noticed the crown and shield on the odd sized coin. We had no idea what it was. I received a text from Jim the next day informing me that I had dug my first Virginia Halfpenny. Still trying to get a date off of the large cent and the shield nickle. A 1893 Indian and a 1938 Buffalo at the end of the hunt. The ring shaped thing is what is left of a cloth button. I was excited to see this little padlock, very neat. Great day... Arty
