Score! That 1858-S dime is a rare one. Only 60,000 minted. Everyone knows the 1916-D Mercury dime is rare. With 245,000 minted, that’s 4 times the number of your coin! My 2024 Redbook says a G-4 is worth $250. Don’t clean it! You guys out west get all the S mint coins!😩

The safety pin is a really cool recovery, can't recall ever seeing one posted up before.

Me and my wife had gone to VC on a couple of weekends trips when we lived in the Sacramento area. Cool old town it is.
