I just returned home to New Hampshire after spending the last six nights at the Days inn on the Beach, in Virginia Beach, VA.I did total of 5 separate hunts of about 3 hours each.3 in the morning starting around 6;30 am, and 2 evening hunts starting at about 6 pm. I focused most of my hunts on the beach between 8th and 12th streets. All of my best finds were found in the dry sand. My best finds were 2 .925 rings,2 .925 ear rings, a working digital watch, a pendant, and a pair of sunglasses. I also managed $14.19 in clad also. I did manage to chat with a couple of fellow detectorists who all seemed very nice.

Hoped you enjoyed Ole Virginia!!!

Had a great time, also went to Busch Gardens on the 3rd,spent some time visiting relatives in Chesapeake, and Charles City, saw the fireworks on the beach on the forth, and took in the Aquarium in Virginia Beach also. The only time the rains bothered us was on the way down while going across the bay bridge tunnel. Saturday and Sunday got a bit humid though.

Very nice !

That opal ring is beautiful! Nice finds!

Beautiful rings and pendant. Nice work!

The Opal Ring is awesome.............GRiley

Wow that opal ring is really impressive. Lucky that it is such fine shape still, good hunting to you ! CARM

Way to go Salty! I live in Chesapeake and get down to the beach often (Sandbridge--Southern VA Beach) to surf and hang out with my three little ones. A few of my friends hunt the resort strip hard during low tide and they have even tried to get this old seasoned relic hunter (of dirt) out there on the sand. It's okay, but the modern stuff just does nothing for me. A gold ring would be nice to pawn off but if its not 150 years old or older I just really lose interest. You did pretty good in the land of NADA (according to old gravediggermax, the master of VA Beach) HH and good luck up in Yankeeland!

Wes
