Oh my...
It's been too long since I last posted anything. The new job hours are long, too many hours in the city, too little time to spend searching outdoors. Anyway...

I need your help dear fellow TNT members.
I have a small find that I need help with, not something spectacular but one of these little everyday objects that excite me.
So I found this pretty damaged tube in a dirt mound blown out of a WW2 coastal bunker in Greece after it's bombardment.

medicTube.jpg

The bunker housed first italian and afterwards german soldiers. I have found ointment tube caps, the typical small round black plastic and the octagonal ones that the german field first aid sets contained. The cap on this tube is made of red plastic and has a very peculiar logo on it.
The logo looks like a sun in a bowl on a tripod that looks like two "K"s, back to back, or maybe with an "I" in front of them, or maybe the cyrillic letter "ж" ?

I'm pretty sure it may be a toothpaste, or shaving cream or whatever other commercial product tube, so it could be a pharmaceutical company logo. I just would love to find out.

I've never seen a logo like this so I wonder what and where it came from... I can't find anything online, I did a picture search, too, nothing.

Has anybody ever found a similar cap or any idea what the logo stands for?
I tried my luck on a WW2 forum but so far no conclusive info.

Any idea or point appreciated..

Is the second K possibly an R?... not that I've been able to find either alternate (I really did try!).

when I see this it looks a lot like the top cap to an old spice after shave/cologne bottle. awfully similar to me. may or maybe not be but could of belonged to a different brand.Products_900x900_FRAGRANCE_CLASSIC_AFTER_SHAVE.jpgOldSpiceFlyingCloud_zps120a2f55.jpg

....This would be a perfect test to identify an item using Google Image search. Simply remove the cap and place it on a non-textured surface.....take a well lit / focused photo , straight on to the surface of the cap logo....then we search !

Mark.

Lets try it but the problem the google search wont even see the logo. I tried it with the deer button. I bet you get nothing but octagon shapes. But lets do it we got nothing to lose by trying.

Yaxthri take the photo of the cap straight on please by his instructions

Thank you guys for the input.
I've already tried the google image search mot with a pic but I copied the logo. I made a drawing of it (I'm a graphic designer) and then tried the search... nothing...
well thanks anyway (the OldSpice cap is disproportionally funny :-)

The google image search will only find the exact picture if its on the internet. it will also find pictures of similar color. So I have concluded that its basically worthless for our purposes.
