Can you tell us more about how / where you found it ? I live in Santa fe New Mexico , your belt is in the style of a "first phase " Navajo fabricated concho belt( 1880's to 1910 or so )this style is characterized by the open cut aways in the center of each concho , leaving a silver bar to accomodate the leather strap . An important question is - are there any hallmarks ( makers marks) on the underside of the buckle ? Before we talk about value , lets be clear - this belt is modern- not 1880's - 1910 - more like 1980's to 90's . This is clear from the surfaces ( lack of abrasion , wear , and the nature of the patina ) . Concerning value , a "wholesale"( private transaction)value at
the low end , would be at least $2000. USD. A retail value, in a shop on the plaza in Santa fe , NM - would be closer to $4500. This is assuming that the belt is sterling silver ! Please give us some story around how you aquired the piece ..

Hi! Thank you so much for the information. 😍😍😍I got this from a thrift store here in the Philippines. I haven’t check the details yet. I’ll post more photos for reference.

From the pictures... it does not have that "sterling look"... this could just be the picture quality though.
IF it is sterling then you found something.
IF it is not... then it has little value unless marked by known maker and desired /collected.

Thanks

Thanks for the input. I’ll try to post clearer photos.. maybe tomorrow😊

For value, (assuming it’s silver) do a search on eBay for sterling Concho belt, and far down on the left side click on the box that says SOLD, then the search will show what people have actually paid for the different conchos, it’s a great way to get in the ballpark of value.

You left the rest of that out...
ALSO click "lowest first"... then look at lowest averages.
This will tell you the REAL expected price.

Remember... Ebay is scam central.
Most prices of exorbitant amounts of highest price area can be a form of scam or money moving.

Very cool belt. The condition of the leather indicates a "modern" creation, as suggested above. Take a careful peek under the backing, there should be markings. Going to need to do that eventually.

Thank you. Will definitely check it. What markings should i look out for?

I took a few more minutes to examine the actual impressions in the design. Look closely, and find a couple of variations in the pattern. I looked at the closely packed ring of etchings around the center piece. Those variations are indentical on the other conchos. Conclusion? Stamped base metal using the same die. Unless they are stamping sheets of sterling, which I doubt. Silver plated.

Edit. I fact checked my own statement, and indeed, sheets of nickel silver are die stamped to make conchos. So, find some marks.

Agreed.

Thanks, Kray. Really appreciate your input. I didn’t find any marks though.. so this is not that valuable to sell, right?
