VINTAGE METAL TAG FOUND IN MARIETTA OHIO please help!!!

This was found in Marietta, Ohio about 1 block away from Historic Fort Harman (now Harmar grade school)

We are thinking it may be a livestock tag or a tag from a soldier's horse (that would be even better! )

Has anyone seen anything like this before? The region was also involved in the underground railroad. Any help on the ID would be appreciated. Thanks!

Oh...and we have also found Revolutionary musket balls in the same general area.

Are there any mines in the area? Could be a miner's tag - although most of the ones I have seen are round.

Probebly lost at some time between 1900 - the last major cosntruction project... maybe the current school that is there.
