vintage european Fire Brigade helmet , what era is it from?

i dont really know but my brother collects old fire related stuff. he might know. i will forward the post to him.

I think it could be pre WW1 because the shape looks similiar to the early French army helmets used during WW1, I read that the French designed the model 1915 army helmet from a firemans helmet

That helmet has a leather suspension system, I don't think that been around that long.

yes, it's mine, I didnt get it yet, but the medallion looks like it may be a lion's head

it could even be a policeman's helmet?

That explains it. Thought maybe someone was selling the helmet using someone else's picture. Also, did not know that you had already bought it. Nice Helmet.

Same type of helmet was used in variations throughout mainland Europe for many years, some had a leather flap on the rear neck piece.
