With no marks pointing to a maker it's going to be hard or impossible to ID who made it, and or even guess an age.

Showing more photos of under the seat and closeup of the joinery to show construction style may help date it.

Here are some photos of the underside and the construction of the chair. The seat is reed thatch inside the needlepoint..... I know without any markings it's a tough item to track down but any idea as to age or origin would be appreciated.... SWAG method is good for me when nothing else works!
Many thanks!

My best guess is that the chair was made around or prior to 1935, the reason for my guess is the slotted screws used, the phillips head screws were invented around 1930 and came into common use between then and 1940.

It evident that a few of the screws were replaced, most are flat heads which I believe are the originals but a few are round heads, but they are still slotted screws, my guess is they have been there for some time.

Many thanks.... quick question. I'm new to the forum and not sure I can ask this, or not, but do you have a guess as to value? She paid less than $100..... If I violating the rules, my apologies and won't happen again!

No forum rules on evaluating an item, there's even a "What it's worth" section you may want to post it in for more opinions.....

...but I have no guess as to value, others may give their opinion in time.

You can also do a internet search for similar chairs for sale or that have sold to get some idea of value.

That all being said the chair seems to be in good condition and most likely worth at least what was paid for it.

Thanks again.... It's not going anywhere for now... Wifie loves it! Just curious to see if she found a "treasure"!

I would say that it has been recovered. The cloth seat has no wear or stains. Also, the work under the seat is sloppy. Should have trimmed the cloth down more and the tacks are helter skelter instead of in a row. Just my take on it...
