I was clearing out some junk in my garage and I was shocked to find what was in there I saw lead paint from 1974 and I looked and found this cool car side view mirror. We bought the house in the 90's and our house was built in 1954. I want to put this thing on ebay so any help figuring WP_20150405_001[1].jpgWP_20150405_002[1].jpgWP_20150405_003[1].jpg out what kind of car its for would be great.

It's a vintage add-on accessory mirror. Not for any specific make or model.

$20 on eBay.

Since you mentioned old paint in the garage, keep your eye open for cans of old Rust-oleum spray paint, particularly with the Scottish guy on the front... many are worth more than your mirror, even if not as pretty.

Looks like just a generic replacement mirror that you could buy at most auto supply stores.these were sold to add a mirror or replace one on your car

As you can see by my avatar... I am an old car guy. We call those "peep mirrors". People removed the stock mirrors from cars, and replaced them with these.

Look close at my avatar and you will see one on my car.

GL brother!

Tom,
Have you seen one with the provision for a compass or thermometer? This is on a 50 Pontiac parts car in my backyard. I am going to put it on my 50 Pontiac Torpedo.

I wonder if that was for a reflector?

I have not seen one like that before, obviously an older example. I would assume a spring operated thermometer went in that spot. I'm not certain a compass would work in that spot, not that a thermometer would work very well.

Best of luck on your Torpedo project sir!

I think JC Whitney had them with a reflector?

I have one like that. It came off my grandfather's '57 Chevy 2 door post. Wish I had the car...
