i can't upload a picture for some reason, but it says REM-UMC 303 SAV. The metal is different in the center and there is an indentation there.
hopes this helps.

The marking on your brass casing's base is called the "headstamp." The marking on yours means it was made for use in a .303-caliber Savage rifle -- which was invented in 1894 by the Savage Arms Company.
.303 Savage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The "REM-UMC" in your bullet-casing's headstamp is a conjunction of the names Remington Arms Company and Union Metallic Cartridge Company. Those two firms joined in 1912, becoming the Remington-UMC Company.

So, because your bullet-casing is marked REM-UMC, it cannot be any older than 1912.
