Looks like a screw cap so it's not too old.

I have a few just like it yours, until you posted this one, I assumed they were old Lysol bottles, but I'm having trouble finding a match too. I'm sure it's something simple that will make us all slap our foreheads though.

Screw cap look like it may have a cork in it? Or it could just be an optical illusion. You can see it better if you have a large computer screen and blow up the original photo.

Good observation diggumup. Is there a proper term for a "screwcap-cork"? Can't recall ever seeing one before...

Jubilee Kitchen Wax bottle?
This is actually not what immediately crossed my mind, but it's close.
I'm thinking "Bliss" polish for some reason - very similar jar - , but I can't find it on the Internet, so I must be mistaken?

That is really close. Based on ridges and contour of bottle, it has to be something you might use while hands are wet/slippery.
