Picked this watch up from an estate. Runs but probably needs a cleaning and/or service. I'm trying to get a feel for age of the watch & a possible value. The seller had been to a gold buyer and a jeweler in a large city who gave her similar offers before she asked if I could match or beat their price. I also got a ladies 14k Bulova & ladies platinum Hamilton out of the deal.

No idea on age or value, but that is a nice looking watch.

I say 40s to, as Aarc mentioned. Very good score. I had a Movado that had a stainless steel case and the same movement as in the one in yours. I sold it to a buddy and fellow watch collector. Later on I was thinking I should have not done that as I kinda missed it, but he was unwilling to deal it back to me, as he really liked it.

Yeah definitely late 40s possibly early 50s. Unfortunately it looks like the dial is a bit discolored. Still a great time find And a great project watch for someone.

I agree Jim Don. It is odd to see this basic Military movement in an 18K case. This is the movement used in WW2 military watches. The watch dial is discolored but I would not have it refinished. I would say time only sub second Movado in 18K is worth between 475 and 550 IMO

After the war they had a lot of leftover military spec movements. I’ve seen Bulova ads in the late 40’s selling surplus military watches. I agree on price range although I put the low-end at around $400
