VIdeo- V5.2 adjusting reactivity and monitoring silencer using module

Some follow up here as far as the video and using Module for running Deus.

There will be some situations where say a Deus lite user (module) only with coil and rod will not be able to get the depth of a Deus user having remote.

In milder soil, reactivity 1 silencer -1 can deliver some more depth.
So, a Deus lite user would have to have an original slotted program to use here, program seems doesn’t exist.
If I use deep mode and try to cycle to reactivity level 1, silencer will automatically go to silencer level 3, hence Deus could be more depth limited vs using reactivity 1 silencer -1.

I made a comment in video that could be misunderstood.
ALL original factory programs as well as any programs a user makes and saves, silencer setting of -1 CAN indeed be achieved. All a user has to do is advance the reactivity setting from levels 0,1,or 2 to any of the following silencer levels, 2.5, 3, 4or 5.
But these higher reactivity settings can be less deep.

A user CANNOT see their actual silencer setting when viewing module.

A person buying Deus lite package can indeed have a friend whom has Deus with remote to program their module/coil and have some programs a strictly Deus lite owner can never make using.

Yep. That is another disadvantage of Deus lite (unless you have a friend with a remote, like you said). You can change the settings on the fly but you can't save them for use as custom program for use later unless you have a remote. Everything resets to the default settings when you turn the headphones back on, if you have only the headphones and no remote and have not saved any custom programs to the coil (the custom programs are saved in the coil, not the remote, but you need the remote to modify and save custom programs to the coil, which can be recalled using only the headphones).

In summary:

The headphone module alone allows you to change default settings on the fly and allows you to access any pre-programmed default or custom programs in the field, because the programs are actually stored in the coil.

The remote is needed to modify and save custom program settings to the coil, you cannot do that with the headphone module alone and if you change reactivity settings on the fly using the headphone module, then the silencer setting can change with the change in reactivity setting because XP linked the two settings together. You can change them independently, using advanced expert settings for silencer menu on the remote (doesn't exist on the headphones) but they will change automatically to the default associated with that reactivity setting when you change reactivity. Never liked that quirk since version 3.X and have longed for XP to fix that in these 4.X and 5.X software releases.

Good video!

The knock on using silencer per Andy Sabisch was always that it affected target depth and he recommended using -1 or preferably 0. I think Calabash debunked the idea that silencer affected depth in an older video last year. I can see now that what really happens is that it can affect two-way signal acquisition because silence will blank the detector on nearby iron in an attempt to prevent falsing as you swing off a nail tip, for example. Problem is, it totally hoses up the awesome unmasking ability advantage the high Deus recovery speed provides. Going to go in and make sure it is -1 when relic hunting. Since it doesn't affect depth, I find that silencer is a great at breaking up bottlecap high tones at the beach or in parks. So if iron is not an issue, I will leave silencer at the default because it helps make bottle caps not sound like quarters.

Note for Equinox users who may be visiting over here, TNSS has demonstrated that Iron Bias behaves essentially the same way. Turn it off if you are in the field relic hunting amongst iron unless you want to risk masking out keepers on Equinox, too.
