That is a wonderful recovery. Have you attempted to find who the medal was won by and what event? Thats what makes this hobby so interesting. Every find has a story. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like an Olympic participant medal. Remarkable.
Look for any identifying marks regarding the participant. You may be able to get a name. Would be great return to the family (unless they got rid of it in the first place).
