✅ SOLVED victorian toothbrush handle?

Surely you pit diggers and sifters would recognize it if you saw it. I have never dug something like this so I am just wild guessing. It looks like oak but at first I thought bone because it does not float in a bowl of water. It is there for now so it doesn't disntigrate. It looks like part of an arrow back chair but obviously too small. I thought a utensil handle but lean more to toothbrush. What do you all think? thanks in advance, vn

one good way to tell bone from wood in relics like this is get your finger wet and if the item sticks to your finger it's bone because its porous. I learned this while hunting ice age fossils, sometimes the bone frags can look like petrified woods. but it works on all bone. nice find, sometimes they have names engraved/stamped on them
