Boy I was pumped when I dug this greenie from a site that's given me my oldest finds,
wrapped it in a wet leaf as is and was sorely disappointed to later see the item in photo #1.
After some harsh methods I see a large headed bust facing right (as you look) on obverse.
On reverse, there's an exuerge, what else I can't tell, sometimes I think it's a harp frame,
but no Irish coins I've seen have the exuerge. maybe it's Brittannia with shield to left.
Given it's state of decay, I am thinking it's older than GIII. (though I think I see the ribbon to left of bust) a 1723 Woods was found very close in MUCH better shape.
It is currently 6.8 grams and 26.8 mm, and is medallic orientation .
thanks for looking and HH All!
