Hey I got this last year from an estate sale, of what I can say is the sale had stunning works of art and bronzes and incredible furniture. I picked this little dragon inlaid ? statue up. it is roughly 5 inches tall and about 7 inches long. I'm not sure how much detail y'all can see but when you zoom in you can tell this was hand made. I can't imagine the amount of time that must have been put into it. the base I think is mahogany. the metal I'm not so sure it is brass, it is fairly heavy weighs about 2 pounds.
I think it is inlay, I'm not sure. everybody I have taken it to says they don't know, followed by wows when looked at with a magnifying glass. there are no markings that I can find on it.

if anybody can shed some light on it..you will be my hero!
I had to crop the pics because my net is to slow.

That's killer. Last month I was looking at a wings spread, eagle made the same way with sterling filigree and enamel and perched on a wood piece carved to look like a rock. It had a plaque made of sterling on the bottom saying it was from some maker in Thailand I think? It was smaller then your piece and they wanted $75. for it. I didn't buy it as I think it may be worth only $80. to $90. Long time ago I found a sterling filigree and enamel of two cockerel rooster's engaged in a fight. It only had a mark of .925 I think? They wanted around $75. for it and I remember they would deduct 10% of that, so I bought it to sell on eBay. If I recall it did do a little better then $200.

geeze I only paid 5$ for it. the company that was running the sale was rather strange, stuff that really didn't seem like much of anything was extremely expensive, yet fine art with gorgeous frames was dirt cheap. we found that sale on the last day, and was bummed to find out they had sold bronze statues for like 35-50 bucks..now I'm just a collector, and never sell what I buy, so cheap sales are the best.
