Congrats Natman, nice find!

This looks like zinc die cast to me. It's pretty much a 20th century product for making anything less expensive. As Mike said conduit fittings, toys some auto parts and about any low strength application that could be molded. Has widely been replaced by plastic in the last 2 decades.

Buck up and swing on, the treasure's out there!

I would think if it was cast zinc many people would describe it as pretty heavy. Kind of looks articulated to me. Certainly strange.

Model T Ford timer roller, probably early teens (1910 - 1914). Some of the brass timer rollers had "Ford" stamped or cast into the brass. I added the photo to show a couple different variations. The top left looks to be your roller. Nice find!

I knew I'd seen that somewhere, but with CRS it's almost impossible if remember.
WOW that's a great ID and with pictures to boot.
Pretty good for your first post!!

Thanks everyone!
I lurk on here once in a while just to see what people are finding and what you guys find is pretty fascinating. Since I'm a car buff and own a couple Model T's I recognized right away what Natman had found and couldn't resist posting what it was.

Thanks again!
