Does anyone know what this rock engraving could be. We found it in WV atop a high cliff face.

Thanks,

sorta looks like Ogam , an ancient celtic language.. Some theories out there that people from Ireland traveled to America, long before Columbus. West Virginia is one of the areas that Celtic Ogam has been thought to be discovered. Do some googling about Ogam in WV , you will find more info.

I can find it again very easily. We were actually cave hunting when we found it. It is located high atop a cliff along the Potomac River.

The first pic almost looks a depiction of somebodys family crest.

This one more carving. It is one on the same rock as the first pictured. But it seems part of this one is missing. Both are on vertical surfaces. The second picture is on a horizontal surface. One member of our group believes they could be Druid. In my opinion, the paleo-hebrew is thus far the closest. Oghams are somewhat similar. The family crest did cross my mind. What ever they are, it is a mystery. Keep the suggestions coming.

Send an email to the America Unearthed dude. I think he needs some better episodes then what I've seen lately.

If so then it is time to call Scott Walter!

I sent America Unearthed an e-mail but no response. If I told them the Beale treasure, the Ark of The Covenant or an ancient horde from 250 BC is located there, they would probably jump on it. Thanks for all the replies!
