Found at 1700s house site. Assuming this is a ring? Any ideas on how old ? Any other info ? Thx

I'm thinking it maybe the finger ring from a candlestick stand?
It looks similar to one I found years ago and turned into an actual ring.

Could also be from a candle lantern. Do you know what material it is ?

I'm pretty sure it's brass, it may be bronze, but that would make it a very heavy piece.

Yes brass. Definitely smaller than other finger rings I have found but certainly could be
