As you can see, This park was a very active getaway for this small city. This victorian casino that once stood here is only now an amazement in old postcards and past memories of people long gone. Now it is one of my favorite hunting spots where I go for a short time after work to dream about what may be buried 5 to 8 inches below the surface. Now stop drooling and roll your tongue back into your mouth, but do enjoy the pics.

wow thats a neat building... too bad its gone. looks like there would be alot of money out in that park.

Nice barber! Looking at the old picture it looks like there are some hills in the background. You might be able to really narrow down exactly where it stood using that. Just a thought, good luck.

yeah you should be finding lots of stuff in that field! go hit it hard!

Nice finds!

Don't forget the outlying areas; they're probably the least disturbed and hunted.

Get some old air photos to go by.

Great silver, and great photograph!

What a great looking building. I love it.

I can only imagine the debauchery that went on in there. :drunken_smilie:

Keep at it man. There's much more for you there, I am sure!

What a magnificient structure. If you've actually pinpointed the location correctly, there should be some nice finds waiting to be had there...even if its been hit before :icon_thumleft:

I was thinking the same thing! In the pic of the building there's hills in the back ground. I thought dang, they tore the hills down too, lol. Maybe the hill is behind you in the new pic? Nice going on the Barber.

Casino photo shows large hill in background. Recent photos show something more like a racetrack or football stadium. Other hills in the immediate area? Casino site does look promising. Small city?!? Casino looks VERY well attended!

Yes, the casino area was behind me, all due to sunlight where I was standing was better for the photo. The layout is much much different now, 3 ballfields, 2 soccer fields, A stadium and walking paths. Ive pulled roughly 10 silver dimes,6 quarters, 2 Walkers, buckles, pins and buttons of all sorts. bulldozers and construction equipment have totaly run-a-much through here many times in the past making way for "progress" here are some more vintage photos, :hello2: Thanks and enjoy.

Nice pictures and photos, Pro :hello2: That's what you call doing your homework  I love old places and pictures like that. Just think of all the forgotten places out there just like that one. Nice lone barber you found. I wonder which one of those people lost that??

that's alot of area to cover... you could be hunting that for months!

wow , how times have changed in that area.

the ppl in the photos are well dressed & are probably among the "higher" end of the areas upper crust -- so to speak

great research & really liked the photos

keep on swinging in that area

Great looking old photos there Pro. :icon_thumright: I find it so interesting to look at these kinds of early photos and let myself "get lost" in them. Imagining what it must have been like to live in those times . . . that's what makes our hobby so interesting when we dig up the past.

It's too bad that so few of these beautiful buildings didn't survive in the name of progress. :'( Oh yeah, great looking silver finds too man!
