Do you have a macro lens or closeup icon (flower) on your camera?

Looks like an ancient middle-eastern or Jewish coin to me. Was it found in the US :icon_scratch:

Crusader,

I do not know, only I remember it at a early age. I had it all along. Thanks for the tip. I will start researching in that direction.

Look up widow's mite (Coin around Jesus time), head in that direction

Thanks Crusader,

Researched Widow's Mite and ancient Jewish coins. Everything I found show more detail than the coin I have. Widow's Mite supposedly have a wheel on one side mostly and the Jewish Coins have more detail with different sides. My coin has two different sides but look like linear symbols or Arabic writing.

Please keep sending any thoughts.

From the looks of it, I'd search pre-British Indian coins from the Independant Native States. The designs look familiar to me, and I know they had thick copper coins like this too.

Fast_Dave,

Thank you for the tip. I will start that line of research tonight after I get the children fed and in bed.

Again, for all the help so far, thank you everybody. I will try to get some better pics added soon.

Does anyone agree?

I think that's the right direction. The eBay coin has similar thickness, size, and markings. I was unable to find your specific coin--but I don't have a book that specializes in early Indian coinage. Perhaps someone will be able to contribute some more information. I suspect that your coin dates to the Middle Ages...

At first I thought Mongolian--but pretty danged certain that it's Indian.
