Found at site about 10-20 yards from an 1859 Indian Head!

Well, its a lot older than an Indian head. 18th century buckle, probably a knee buckle. Nice.

Nice find!
Looks pretty fragile...

That looks like half of a spectacle buckle. It could easily be from the 17th or early 18th centuries.

A comprehensive book that doubles as both a how-to-manual as well as a colonial artifact encyclopedia that will benefit not only the serious digger and collector of early artifacts, but also provide a valuable resource for metal detecting enthusiasts

Would this book be good even for hunting in NY?

I have a big library of detecting related books, & had he not sold them all (first issue), I would have had it in the collection. Would have been of limited use but still interesting.
So it depends what you mean. I'm going to assume, your asking ''will the finds you get be in it?''
Yes they will if your getting circa 18th C finds or early.
