Search "Tortoise shell glazed bowl" you will find similar bowls.

Another search could be "Bennington Rockingham ribbed bowl"

I think it's called "Spongeware" too.

Thanks, I found an almost identical bowl on google images, but I think mine is much earlier than the one in the picture. Perhaps Bennington makes reproductions of some of their earlier pieces? I'm gonna try and find a book somewhere on early ceramics since it seems rather collectible. Thank You for the help!

Perhaps the picture gives it the impression, but the wear, patina, and spur marks indicate that this is an old piece. This is no decorative item, thanks!

I agree, it's an old piece, not modern. Although the pics aren't the best, I'd venture to say it's a piece of Morton yellow ware with a Woodland glaze. Not spongeware but spatterware.

I think you nailed it, I can't find anything exact, but it appears to be at least pre-1920
