Thanks surf for clearing up what the bottle said! The little bottle says on the side "three in one" which was the gimic.

Sweet bottles! Congrats and HH!

Nice bottles!I found a light rose colored bottle top exactly the same type top as what yours is in the first picture and I always wondered what kind of bottle it was.

Actually, the first bottle is a local druggist. The town from where the bottle came from is about 30 min away. The bottle is most likely from the 1890s. Will post some pics of the dump today.

Congratulations awesome bottles!

Neat bottles! :hello2: After enlarging, my ole eyes were able to make out the "Three in One" before you revealed it. But still I'm puzzled as to whether the 3-in-1 previously in that bottle was a medicine or an engine oil, lol. :tongue3: I love old bottles, looking forward to your next posts. Andi

Looks very promising! I also would like to know what the embossing on the druggist bottle says. I am particularly fond of druggists. The 3-in-1 oil was first marketed in the 1890s and was always a lubricating oil; for use on tools, bicycles, hinges, etc. and is still available and popular today (I have a flask of it sitting not 10 feet away, heh). The "3-in-1" refers to it protecting, cleaning, and lubricating various articles. It is a very common bottle as it was a well-received product, and I've dug around 100 of them; both handblown and machine made corkers.

The real prize is the druggist, and I have the feeling that these finds are just what was found on the surface. Sinking a big hole in the dump may lead to the recovery of some excellent treasures. Best of luck.

You are exactly right plum! These prices were all found on top of the dirt. What lies ahead underneath the dirt is a complete mystery.
