This is my second complete horseshoe I have found. It is funny because as I dug deep and hit iron I said to myself that it'd be funny if it were a horseshoe. It was my first hole. Found at about 9 inches and was a scratchy high tone with my 5x8.

One thing that's puzzling is how small it is. The house was built in 1845 and the home owner said they were rich and had a lot of horses. A carriage barn is still standing along with an 1816 outbuilding that he said the slaves would've cooked in.

I was only there for about 40 minutes but it was discouraging as I went through the giant yard the signals were erratic. The at pro ground balanced just fine, there was no chatter when I wasn't swinging, and the 4 frequency settings all acted the same. As I swing I'd get high pops and crackles but nothing repeatable. I couldn't help but think that the absence of repeatable targets through this whole yard was because of the 5x8 and I want getting good depth. By the way this constant cracking and lack of signals was in discrimination at 26, full ( and two bars off) sensitivity, pro zero mode, and in both iron audio and normal. I didn't dig anything good after that first hole.

I just know my first seated dime or some large cents and Indians are there :-(
