Hi,

I had found this ring locally and originally didn't think it was anything. After looking at it again, I am wondering if it is not an antique. It is very roughly made and appears to have enamel between the hearts. There are not markings on the ring. It is also very small, won't even fit on my pinky finger. I had renewed interest because of the recent find in England where they mentioned the use of enamel on items.

Is there anyone that knows of a jewelry resource that may be able to look at it and tell me if it is something interesting, or that I need to get a life.

The edge is very rough on one edge. It also appears to not be of uniform thickness.

It is not magnetic.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. (Well, almost any)

Found in fresh water spring.

I believe it to be copper, since there is no silver sulfide apparent. It also has that shiny granite looking coating that I sometimes find on pennies from the springs.

Id say copper and enamel, plus some glitter material, high school project, craft class etc. Id say 1970s to present day.

I agree with mickk. Probably some shop project made for a high school sweetheart. Just a guess. Monty

I would tend to lean towards this theory as well. The glitter is actually mineral deposits from the spring. See it on coins all the time.

i've seen similar rings but not that thick.
makes sense that it has much more age to it.
no markings relates to age sometimes?
but...?you probably knew all this if posted before.
