Hi there, I got this quarter back in change yesterday. I have gotten in the habbit of searching my change for old coins or whatever interesting things I could find. This Delaware quarter has quite a bit wrong with it. First of all, it is missing the "E" in "STATE", it is also missing the "1" and last "9" of the date, and it is also missing "UNUM" under the date. Has anyone else found a Delaware quarter like this. Any info on its rarity or value would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and HH!

WOW!!! What a find :o Thats a filled die error!! Probably worth alot of money too! At least 25 bucks i would think...

No clue on the value, but I'd say, it's definitely a keeper, WTG!!!
Good luck & Happy hunting~

im still trying to come up with a value for you, seems theres not alot of them around...they are fairly rare :)

Mirage, its the first quarter like this that I have found, although I have found a few pennies that have one number missing the date, but nothing like this.

Jeric, it was minted in Philadelphia.

In case you dont know what a filled die error is, its when a piece of grease, dirt, or metal sticks to the die and when the die hits the coin the areas where the dirt was get filled in, making it appear to be missing :)

Thanks for the info Jake. If its worth more than 25 cents, then its a good find for me ;D.

Thanks again and HH!

Hey southcacalaky, i think that coin is a well known error known as the "athiest cent". What year is your penny?
