Looks like it has a lot of mica in it.

galena perhaps , graphite?

see if you can write with it, then graphite.

Great idea! Tried writing with it and no marks. When stiked with a file it throws a pretty good spark and kinda of crackles. As well produce a strange burnt smell.

Did it smell like sulfur, the kind of smell from a struck match? If so then yes it is pyrite. Galena, a lead ore, was another thought but seeing as it sparked and stunk that is out.
