Very frustrated with my Fisher ID excel!

Detector(s) used
Minelab Excal 1000, Tesoro Silver Umax, Tiger Shark and Whites MXT.
The last three outings have been cut short due to something acting up in the detector. The screen shows 88 and stays there making it so I cannot use it. The first couple outings this happened about 2hrs into it and today it happened about 30-40 minutes into it. This has been very frustrating, as this is my only detector! I wrote Fisher yesterday and have not heard anything yet. Anyone have any ideas what I can do? When the detector is working, its a great detector.
 

Have you called a customer help line?? Could be something simple. I don't know enough about your detector to be helpful, but maybe a quick call would help??
 

It has been a long time since I even touched my Excel, but I seem to remember that 88 is back to the factory time.
 

Thanks alot guys, I will try the number and I have that feeling your right about going back to the factory.
 

Absolutely,back to the factory.I never had my Excel read above 36,something is wrong.
