Relic Hunting
I was relic hunting and the neighbor on the adjoining property walked out and invited me to detect on her property, and proudly proclaiming her house was used as a Civil War hospital. I found these in about a 45 minutes before dark.

Was probley discarded after be extracted from a soldier... also check if there is a nearby stream or water pump where they would have washed out the soldiers clothing and you will find a treasure trove of history. buttons, coins, lockets , buckles , tags , etc... good luck! Great find.:hello:

This women's property is surrounded by battlefield property on 3 sides so I don't have access to the nearest water supply.

I would definitely continue to hunt this site. How often does a site filled with amazing history just fall in your lap, lucky *******! Keep us updated

Looks like a really great spot!

It's not going to be a walk in the park. There's different sizes of sheet metal with different VDI readings every where and the grass is 6 inches taller then her neighbors, which I'm still gridding. The good news is we had another heavy frost this morning....

That is amazing input! Still learning myself so I appreciate info such as this!

Nice recoveries. I have that same book you use as a back drop. Huge atlas and has a lot of great maps in it.

No CW relic hunter should be without it. Combine that with google earth and your in, all you need is permission. It's even good for coin shooters because it shows the old homesteads..

I've done that before but I want to be less intrusive at this location. You know walk softly and carry a big stick- aka metal detector....
She will get a Xmas card for sure.:laughing7:
