Need help id on this item. Possible civil war camp. We have found
regulation US spur at this site. Could this be a vent pick for a
musket?
The end appears to be lead with white patina. Shaft may be
broken at tip. Star motif on end indicates Texas or Miss. troops.

Your opinion please, thanks in advance.

A vent pic would be a lot smaller. I might be wrong but I think that's an old type of roofing nail. The lead was to smash down and seal around the nail hole to prevent it from leaking. I've never seen one with a star on it though.

The tendency is to see Every star on a relic as indicating that it belonged to Texas or Miss. troops. In reality, few of these items were even CW related.

I think vayank's ID of the item is correct.
