Hello,

Picked these 4 points up at various antique shops while looking for other collectables.

I have a handful of real points that I have found over the years while detecting and can tell usually the difference between the real points and the one's made today.

My question is do you feel these one's are real. I bought 8 of them cheap so no big deal. They look great in curio cabinets. Just wanted some opinions on these 4.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Okay let me see if these are any better.

I believe the two small bird type points are real. I will attach a pic of them.

Thanks,

Jer

I'd say the leftmost is good. The Graham Cave to the right... not so sure. The beveled and flat areas bother me.

Also the stemmed point on bottom left of pic1 has banding much like Jefferson City Chert and the point on bottom right is possibly Novaculite. The hand is good but a coin in there too would be even better for a size reference.

Thank you for the info guys appreciate it.

Here are a few more and hopefully some better close ups. Sorry I've added a few here and there to the photos. I live in Pittsburg pa.

They all have been bought in western pa.

Rightmost in post #11 is likely good too IMO. I'd like to see Steve's opinion on all these here too (The Grim Reaper). He would know much better than I from what you've provided. Good job on the pics Jeremy.

Okay fellas sounds good I agree from my end as well. The large white one just looks too new and perfect to me.

I suspected the rest were old they have patina and you can pretty much tell but some are tougher.

Appreciate the comments and info as well. I like collecting them but love finding them.

I have some more I will throw up here soon.

Jer

Black ones look solid and the one posted with them the biggest notched point looks off especially the one narrow notch looks like a grinder or tool made it but I’m no expert
