thats a great button!! coppers in that shape are frustrating! but still a great find!! Thanks for sharing!!

Nice finds. I like the button. :thumbsup: I honestly think if you finish cleaning the coin (remove the rest of the green clingy crud), you might get an ID. My buddy Steve found one almost identical to yours and cleaned it off and was able tO ID it as a KG III. I actually think I see some detail on your coin. I circled some areas where I think I see the detail. Look very closely. A coin that you can ID, no matter how poor in condition, is just so much more satisfying than one that you cant ID.

It would suffice to say that the coin my buddy found looked exactly like the one in your post, if not worse. I don't have a pre cleaned pic of it but after cleaning a little for identification purposes, some detail showed up. Here are a couple pictures. Hopefully you'll be able to see similar detail in your coin. In the first pic you can see the bust right and the G in the word Georgius.

thats the way most of the old copper coins come up looking here in Delaware. it drives me nuts not being able to at least ID the type. i like the button as well. how did Gary do?
