I Googled "BB brass shut off" and found some pages that had info on valves.
It looks to me that in modern times BB is used as a Material code.

Re: Valve? More Pics and apologies

Thanks for all the ideas, and sorry I didn't think of this earlier but I just didn't make the connection, But here is a bunch of the other "what is it" stuff found in the same area which may help with a ID. Not sure if they are all related but they were all found within 10 feet of each other and are all "what is it's" of their own

and Mods, sorry if I violated the rules of the "what is it" forum. did not intend to withhold any info from you guys.

Looks like some kind of gas valve or bleeder valve and so does the first pic in second group. (gas)

Top one in last post looks like a refrigeration service valve. Under the cap on the right side would be a square stem (probably 1/4") which is operated by (of course) a refrigeration wrench. They are used to isolate different areas of a condenser to perform service & repairs.

Your #2 picture has been identified before as a tent rope tightner. That wouldn't have much connection to a shoe shop unless he operated out of a tent. Guess it's possible tho'.

Cool thanks for the ID. I was sure it was related to the other items as the metal seems to be the same as well as the diameter of the hole.

Thanks.

IMHO I submit:
Valve.jpg = Drain valve from boiler sight glass.
11-25 finds 001. jpg = return valve (used in air conditioning and hydraulic systems)
11-25 003.jpg reminds me of a shim from a jalousie window, could be wrong here.
11-25 find 005.jpg and 11-25 find 006.jpg are from an air conditioner or refrigeration unit. The symbol on the cap (006.jpg) is to denote that this access point is to the condenser (gas to liquid).
And, of course, everyone knows what 007.jpg is. Bluezman
