Crater of Diamonds State Park. Too late for that since April has come and gone, but there's always next year!

Scooter: The Crater of Diamonds is the place to go in Arkansas! The trick is to go after a heavy rain, early in the morning as the sun is beginning to rise and stand on the west side of the diamond field-looking back to the east side. Look for any thing that shines or sparkles and pick it up! You will not recognize a diamond in the rough, but it will feel waxy or greasy in your hand! In any event just take it to the office and they will be glad to tell you if it is a diamond! Interestingly enough years ago one could buy a square inch of the crater in the event you actually found a stone and it would belong to you rather than share it with the state of Arkansas as the rule was at that time. Now you just get to keep the stones you find! Good Luck and GO HAWGS!!
