Even though hunting in the summers can be hot to the extreme from anywhere from 102 to 118 here in Vegas the good part is the Winters you can still hunt comfortably in 36 to 62 degrees. I started out this morning positive that I would find silver and silver I did. Found a vacant lot that they recently just took down a fence, the area is from the early 1900's and I could tell that a house once stod here but apparently was tore down quite some time ago. I was hoping I was the first to get in here and within minutes I realized I was. Found silver, a 1931 Chauffer badge, a rather large token given out at in the 60's. Also a badge from a speed boat race here at lake mead in the early 60's. A silver ring also almost had two key dates with the 1916 dime and the 1909 penny but sadly no mint marks. Also found tax tokens, a Buffalo Nickel, 6 wheaties and some unknowns that hopefully you can help me identify. All and all a great Saturday hunt a little bit of everything. HH. Sorry about my pics being sideways, when I post from my tablet they end up this way.

NICE HUNT!

I would be happy with those finds any day of the week!

Might make it back to Vegas some day, hell of a town!

HI BOB!

Hey rayray,

Thanks for taking us along on an excellent hunt. I really like that California Chauffeur badge, and the Aku Aku, of course. Too bad about the sideways stuff.

Thanks Argentium, been kinda slow since all the street-sidewalk tearouts have ended, still trying to find the time to get that post together, best year ever. I lucked out on this lot I remember when I first started over 19 years ago I was eyeing this lot but its been fenced in till last week. Pays to continually drive by unhuntable areas they might just open up.

Thanks for the info and pixs Surf, adds to the thrill of the find. HH.

Wow, great hunting Mr. Rayray. That 1916 Mercury! If I ever pull one of those out of the ground I will be too sacred to turn it over and look for the D. A search party would find me staring at it days later, in a trance, mumbling incoherently, and have to pry it out of my cold trembling fingers.

Can't wait to see more from your lot!

Wow, and entire collection in one day off one lot. Way to go. Living in Vegas have you found many silver dollars?

Very cool finds, I'm thinking they will be doing tear outs this summer in my town. I already lined up with the engineer for the heads up. If I hold my phone one way or anothe when I'm taking pix it effects how they come up when I post. Do you take pix with the tablet or upload to the tablet? I know I can rotate my pix also from my PC, maybe you can preview your post and try different ways until you figure out the right geek that is needed. Of course I have all the time in the world to get my geek on, I know not everyone feels the same. Haaaaaaaa lol

Nice haul Ray! Historic Aerials goes back to 1950 in you're area. It's pretty cool watching everything spring up using the slide function!

Great hunt!! About the pics - you know the direction the photo is going to rotate - before you take the shot turn your item in the opposite direction when it rotates it should be where you want it. It may take a couple of shots but should work for you.

Congrats on the great finds RayRay! Looks like you found a fabulous site that deserves a lot more hunting! GL+HH

Belive it or not only have found 1 last year after 19 years of detecting, but a key one, a 1928 Peace dollar. Have found plenty of half dollars though which is a plus. Most of all the older areas here have all been tore down and rebuilt so I mostly hit hard any construction or tearouts here and of course vacant lots. They seem to be the silver givers.

Treblehunter street & sidewalk tearouts was my hunting grounds last july to december, my best year ever hunting. I found loads of silver, jewelry, tokens, toys, relics. It was a blast! Hit yours and hit them hard. I take photos with my phone than upload into my tablet, ill recheck if there is a option to preview. HH

Fletch I recently just became aware of this site, its definitely a plus in our hobby, especially here in Vegas they are constantly tearing down and rebuilding here. Its led me to some productive sites. Good luck in your hunts. HH
