Could anyone advise me how high I should be able to raise the RX Gain sensitivity while using the D2 coil. The default is 7 but sometimes I get an overload and have to lower to 5 or 6. This seems really low to me but I am new to this machine. I was hoping that someone with a V3 or V3i could tell me if this is normal or if I have a coil problem. I have the 5.3 coil also and I can raise the sensitivity to 10+ without an issue. Any help would be appreciated.

The D2 coil had a long-term drift problem, lots of coils went out-of-spec and had to be replaced. It's possible to split the coil open and re-null it but it's a very difficult process. Best thing is to run at the lower gain, or use a different coil.
