I'm glad to hear a lot of you guys were able to get out this weekend, and I'm floored by all of the great finds you've all made. Yesterday of course was Valentine's Day, so no digging for this boy! I took the lady on a surprise dinner cruise in Lake Michigan aboard the Mystic Blue. Man, what great food! Good music and dancing, too.
Anyway, I wanted to head out for a while this morning so I called Kermit and Mike to see what they were up to. Kermit wanted to check out an older area he had studied on some older aerials, and Mike was busy with his work, so it was just the Dynamic Duo for the day. The area we headed to was what one might call a bust. Between the two of us, two newer wheats, a memorial, a 1995 dime, and a lot of trash. We then headed to a nearby park where we finished off the day with some more clad, and a 1959 Jeff. I also found some tiny piece of a clasp that's marked sterling but it's so tiny, you could barely read it. Oh well! Mike, you didn't miss much.
My best finds came yesterday, when I checked the CoinStar like always and found 22 dimes, 87 pennies, and two nickels in the reject bin. All clad, but three wheaties: 1938, 1941, and a nice 43 steelie.
I'm looking forward to catching up with you guys, finding all the nice stuff. Take care, all.
Joe
