Another state, the great state of Utah has come out and declared not only will they not support new gun laws they will defend the traditional interpretation of the 2nd amendment with their lives if necessary...

The Utah Sheriffs’ Association has made massive national waves by announcing in no uncertain terms that they will ignore an Obama gun ban, arrest anyone who tries to enforce it, and defend to the bloody death the historical, traditional interpretation of the Second Amendment to the constitution. Direct quote: “We are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of its traditional interpretation.”
That’s right, we are now seeing what is very close to a constitutional, structural political crisis: congress hasn’t stopped Obama yet, but local government officials across the land will. This is a nightmare for elitists like Obama who want to be able to rule the world without any kind of push-back We need more people willing to stand up and defend the constitution like this.

I don’t think some people understand. We are literally seeing organized and armed forces confronting Obama on some of his “hope and change”. This is real. The entire text of the Utah Sheriffs’ Association’s letter is published below. You can see the original here, or just keep reading:

7 January 2013

The Honorable Barack Obama
President of the United States of America
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20500

Dear President Obama:
We, the elected sheriffs of Utah, like so many of our fellow Americans, are literally
heartbroken for the loved ones of the murdered victims in Connecticut. As Utahans, we are
not strangers to this kind of carnage—-one of the latest being the 2007 Trolley Square murders
wherein nine innocents were gunned down-five losing their lives.

We also recognize the scores of other recent domestic massacres, which have decimated
countless honorable lives. As Americans, we value the sanctity of life. Furthermore, similar to
our inspired Founders, we acknowledge our subservience to a higher power.

With the number of mass shootings America has endured, it is easy to demonize firearms; it is
also foolish and prejudiced. Firearms are nothing more than instruments, valuable and
potentially dangerous, but instruments nonetheless. Malevolent souls, like the criminals who
commit mass murders, will always exploit valuable instruments in the pursuit of evil. As
professional peace officers, if we understand nothing else, we understand this: lawful violence
must sometimes be employed to deter and stop criminal violence. Consequently, the citizenry
must continue its ability to keep and bear arms, including arms that adequately protect them
from all types of illegality.

As your administration and Congress continue to grapple with the complex issue of firearm
regulations, we pray that the Almighty will guide the People’s Representatives collectively.
For that reason, it is imperative this discussion be had in Congress, not silenced unilaterally
by executive orders. As you deliberate, please remember the Founders of this great nation
created the Constitution, and its accompanying Bill of Rights, in an effort to protect citizens
from all forms of tyrannical subjugation.

We respect the Office of the President of the United States of America. But, make no mistake,
as the duly-elected sheriffs of our respective counties, we will enforce the rights guaranteed to
our citizens by the Constitution. No federal official will be permitted to descend upon our
constituents and take from them what the Bill of Rights-in particular Amendment II-has
given them. We, like you, swore a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the
United States, and we are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of its traditional
interpretation.

Again, Thank You TH!
I have sent off another Attaboy!

Heck ya I too sent my thanks and support.

WHat is he going to do fire them all?

Point being, it is NOT the state of Utah... ONLY the "Association"; POSSIBLE that the STATES will have "problems" (like Colorado) BEFORE the FEDS "things". I see another Alabama; 1964 Civil Rights "thing"; from MANY states on this...

Actually, the goal is to be rid of all low level law enforcement, sherrifs/ deputy sherrifs etc. It is actually written in stone-see the georgia guide stones-it is already happening in Delaware where sherrifs can't even write a ticket from what I understand.....Joe

It is EVERY SHERIFF IS THE STATE OF UTAH which is just what I posted, willing to stand with the people and DEFEND the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment with their blood if necessary.....The federal government can not force local police to enforce any Federal laws..........This is nothing like Alabama at all, we are talking about one of the Bill of Rights written into the constitution and elected officials standing up and defending that right....

What does Gov. Herbert of Utah say...?

Rebel, all you have to do is look...

By Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert

Respect the Second Amendment

I will not support any legislation or proposals—either in Utah or by any federal entity—that would diminish our fundamental right to bear arms guaranteed in the Second Amendment to the US Constitution.

Find rational solutions

Any legislation must be carefully considered and pragmatic, not reactionary nor emotional. We need to work together to find solutions that protect Second Amendment rights and ensure public safety. I will not support message bills that inflame, rather than inform, the discussion. Neither does it help to propose extreme measures that politicize or polarize the debate.

Enforce existing laws

Rather than passing new restrictive federal laws and rules, we should focus our efforts on enforcing current laws, such as preventing firearms access for criminals or the mentally ill. Tighter gun control won’t necessarily prevent isolated, unpredictable, inexplicable violent acts.

Protect the vulnerable

We must not forget our obligation to protect those who are vulnerable. Everyone has a right to assemble in public settings without the fear of being attacked. Children have the right to go to school and be protected from those who would harm them. We must consider all reasonable and Constitutional options to ensure the ability of students to study and learn in a safe environment.

Address a growing culture of violence

We must address ongoing societal degradation of shared values and the expanding culture of violence in graphic movies and video games, which desensitizes all of us, particularly our youth, to the tragic repercussions of gratuitous violence

He can't fire them...they're elected by the local people they serve. Best form of government...local.
