More than a year ago I posted about the USS Johnston being the deepest shipwreck ever found, at more than 21,000 feet after being sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944. Now, investor/explorer Victor Vescovo has found the wreckage of the USS Samuel B. Roberts, sunk during the same battle at 22,621 feet. Some impressive and ghostly pictures in the article:

Even though it was before my time, reading descriptions of these battles and what men had to endure gives me chills every time. And when you think that most of them were around age 20 when they went through this it makes it all the more amazing. Now when a 20 year old hears a politically incorrect joke they need a cry room with Play-Doh and a puppy just to get over the trauma. We may really be at the End of Days, people...
