Set the machine in "Coralate mode" in multifrequancey, then set the pre-amp gain to 3.
Put it in silent search and try that.

I don't know how my sens is set, but it works pretty good for me..
you will get some falsing if you bump the sand but regular sweeps work ok

Thanks so much! I'm going to have to try that!

Do you mean it won't ground balance?

If by "won't adjust to the sand" you mean that you are getting a message during your ground balance that says "installing presets" this a good thing. It means that the mineralization is so low that there is nothing to balance to. This is normal and a sign that you should get good depth.

I'd say try the Beach & Jewelry program and turn up the AC and Preamp. If your getting EMI use Correlate.

Remember that if you take your DFX in the water the coil is waterproof. However water will collect in the shaft and if you were to raise the coil higher up in the air than your control box the water can run down the shaft and into the control box.

Good luck.

Schrecky is 100% right and I didn't read all of his post. Set it right and you can detect with it till your arm falls off. Have used mine that way and it works great. Turn it on beach program, balance it and ignore what it says, and crank the gain a little.

Thanks for all of you help guys!! I really appreciate it!
