I found this last summer. It has seen better days. One of the barbs is broken off. The stem is gone as well. It does have some nice serrations on top, though .I thought the plow had claimed yet another victim. I washed it off and looked at it in the sunlight. It looks as though the stem was broken long ago. They rechipped the back where the stem was to straighten it up as you can see in the second pic. They then reused it for something else.

It's not an eye-popping find by any means, but I thought it was interesting how they rechipped the back and reused it. Modern-day people could learn many things from the resourcefullness of the ancients.

What do you suppose these were before reworked?

The white one could have been a kirk, not sure about the black one.

I can't possibly tell what Brians ( hoping I got your name correct) point is, due to base missing, but the smaller white point in Bruces post looks to be a Brewerton side notched.
