US NavyChief Petty Officer collar device. One of two on the collars of a Chief. Approx value of $12/set of two. USN means "U" stands for Unity, which reminds of cooperation, maintains harmony and continuity of purpose and action, "S" stands for Service, which reminds us as service to God our fellow man and country, the "N" stands for Navigation, reminds us to keep ourselves on a true course so that we may walk upright before God and man in out transactions with all mankind. The anchor is a symbol of the hope and glory of of the fulfillment of all of God's promises to our souls. The chain is a symbol of flexibility and reminds the chief of the chain of life that we forge day to day link by link and may it be forged with Honor, Morality and Virtue.
The US Navy Chief Petty Officer anchor means allot to me since I was initiated a Chief Petty Officer September 16, 1989 in Oak Harbor Washington. I am now retired but will never forget those great days as a US Navy Chief Petty Officer!
